The inmensity of the mountains, everlasting snow, endless walls of rock, glaciers flling from icefields, dense woods, turquoise lakes and a challenging climate that never ceases to surprise, are the highlights that create the Torres del Paine National Park landscape. Torres del Paine National Park was also declared Biosphere’s World Reserve by UNESCO. It is one of the most visited places in the world. Specially admired are the “Stone Towers” because of their shapes. Guanacos, huemules and condors are symbols of this region. The park is ideal for those who love walking, even six or seven hour daily. You will be in touch with one of the most impressing places of Patagonia, at the end of the world.

HD PUNTA ARENAS CITY TOUR

The first place to visit is the Cross Hill where you get a panoramic view of the City of Punta Arenas and the Strait of Magellan, and in the back Tierra del Fuego (Fire Land) Island.
Afterwards the visitor will drive on its avenues and through downtown Punta Arenas, where they will be able to appreciate its characteristics European construction style of the 19th century. Squares will be visited where over 30 monuments have been placed to symbolize the rich history of this southern city. In contrast with the style of construction, the Free Zone district located 2 kms. North of downtown Punta Arenas will be visited. Here the visitor will be able to buy souvenirs from the Region in one if its hundred stores. The City – Tour will be completed after visiting the Maggiorino Borgatello Salesian Museum, place where a rich variety of fauna and flora samples of the Chilean Patagonia have been preserved.  Also the visitor will be able to see vestige of the first inhabitants that populated this Region like the Yagan, Ona and Alacalufe Indians.
All of the above will give the visitor a very good knowledge of the city and its inhabitants.

HD PENGUIN COLONIES – OTWAY COVE


Approximately 65 Kms. Northwest of Punta Arenas the visitor can fin this picturesque spot where every year hundred of penguins come to nest.
After driving a few kilometers on Route 9, the vehicle go West on the road to Kon Aiken cattle settlement. From there take the route to Pecket Mine until reaching the shores of Otway Cove where penguins colonies are found.
Being a protected area to maintain species from mankind destruction, thousands of penguins can be seen out of their nests and at the sea shore. Young penguins can also be observed in their nests in holes made in sand.
The rich fauna of the Region can be enjoyed during the journey, like wild gooses, American Ostriches and a great variety of sea birds.

HD ISLA MAGDALENA


Together with Isla Marta, they form the Penguin Natural Monument. In remote times, they were visited by local aborigens in canoes. Later the Spanish Conquistadores stopped for provisions. The first sheep herds were brought by José Nogueira in 1878 from the Falkland Islands. The tour includes a visit to the 87 ha. island and observe the cormoran colonies and specially the Magallanes Penguins. (Sphenicus Magallanicus) The colony builds approximately 65.000 pairs of penguin’s caving caves in order to lay their eggs. The hike ends at the lighthouse with a panoramic view on the island.

FD PUNTA ARENAS TO PUERTO NATALES


The passengers are greeted at President Ibañez Airport, Punta Arenas.
Depart to Puerto Natales driving on the North route on the typical Magellan steppe where the visitor will be able to observe ovine and bovine cattle pasturing. If lucky you might be able to see the duty of driving cattle performed by the shepherd and especially by his dogs. Ostriches, bandurrias and other small birds will delight the passenger on his journey.
On the afternoon we’ll arrive at Puerto Natales, picturesque town by the shores of Ultima Esperanza Cove. Transfer to the Hotel of your choice.

FD PUERTO NATALES – SERRANO AND BALMACEDA GLACIERS

Early in the morning the visitor will sail, on a 3.5 hrs. journey through the waters of Ultima Esperanza Cove, arriving at the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers. In the way the visitor will be able to observe cormorant and sea wolf colonies. Once on land again and after a short walk, the visitor arrives near to Serrano Glacier to admire the imposing majesty of the icebergs floating on the lake. After approximately one hour, the visitors return to Puerto Natales arriving at its dock at around 4 p.m.
Visitors are transported to Costa Australis Hotel where they will enjoy dinner and lodging.

FD PUERTO NATALES - TORRES DEL PAINE PARK – MILODON CAVE – LAKES.

Depart towards Torres Del Paine Park. Visit the Milodon Cave where remains where found of an herbivorous animal that lived in it over 12.000 years ago.
Departure to Pehoe Inn, located on an island in Pehoe Lake facing the famous Paine Horns.
On the way, the visitors will be able to admire the beauty of the scenery reflected on the colorful water of Figueroa and Sarmiento Lakes. The visit Laguna Amarga area, from where the passengers will be able to admire the imposing majesty of the Paine Towers, famous rocky formation that gives the name to the National Park.

FD TORRES DEL PAINE - GREY LAKE AREA - LAGUNA AMARGA


Excursion to the Grey Lake area, where huge icebergs that detach from a glacier of the same name can be admired. The colours of the floating ice blocks will provide the masterly touch to the beautiful scenery created by nature. On the way to Grey Lake we will visit Small Waterfall, Paine River, Toro Lake, Sarmiento and Grey River, all of which are places of abundant sport fishery.
In the afternoon the passengers will visit Laguna Amarga area from where the passengers will be able to admire the imposing majesty of the Paine Towers, famous rocky formation that gives the name to the National Park.
During the journey and after other walks, the visitor will be able to see the Big Waterfall and Paine River, together with its abundant fauna as American ostriches, foxes, skunks, black necked swans, flamingos, condors and eagles. Also groups of guanacos will be able to be photographed by the visitor.
Return to Pehoe Inn to enjoy dinner and lodging.

HD NAVEGATION GREY LAKE

Departure from your hotel to Grey Sector in the National Park Torres del Paine. On the way, we will visit the Small Waterfalls, Paine River, Toro Lake, Sarmiento and Grey Rivers. We board the Catamaran on Grey Lake to get to the wonderful walls of Grey Glacier. Our tour will take approximately 3 hours round trip. The scenery is fantastic. We sail between swimming ice blocks that change their colour with the day light. If we are lucky, we will see big ice blocks falling from the glacier walls into the water. A zodiac ride will take us to the base of the glacier. We will also enjoy a snack including whiskey on millennium ice of the glacier. Then we will start our way back to the hotel. End of services.

FD PUERTO NATALES - PERITO MORENO GLACIER


Drive early in the morning with bus to El Calafate in Argentina. We reach the National Park Los Glaciares driving 85km along the Route Provincial 15 highway. The route goes past the Cerro de los Elefantes and the entrance to the Los Glaciares NP is 48 km. from Calafate. Located at the entrance to the park, to the left, is the Brazo Rico arm of the Argentino Lake. The park also offers lenga, cypress, ciruelillo, Calafate and larch native forests. If lucky, we may sight fauna typical to the zone, such as gray fox, guanaco, armadillo and puma.
After passing Curva de los Suspiros curve, the Perito Moreno glacier with its 70m.high ice walls, becomes visible for the first time. We will reach the glacier walking and comply with the indications shown on the handrails and viewing points.
Perito Moreno is the most important of the 13 glaciers found in the territory that makes up the Los Glaciares NP. The glacier’s seductive beauty, at its most spectacular when the ice breaks of the glacier, has transformed it into a leading attraction worldwide.
The National Park entrance fee is not included and must be paid directly by the visitor at the entrance of the park.
Return to your hotel in Puerto Natales. End of services.
