Valparaiso Hiking Tour

Day 01


We’ll start at your hotel where our guide will pick you up around 09:00 hrs and drive by the route 68 that connects Santiago with Valparaíso, where we will pass through the agriculture valley of Curacaví and wine valley of Casablanca. We will go across the mountains of the Cordillera de la Costa through the Lo Prado and Zapata tunnels.

After 90 minutes driving, we’ll arrive to Valparaiso entering by the Argentina Street, where you will get know the National Congress, the trolleybuses, Avenida Pedro Montt Pedro Montt Avenue and La Sebastiana, house of the poet Pablo Neruda where you will get a wonderful view of the Puerto de Valparaíso (Port of Valparaíso). Once in La Sebastiana, we will leave the Van to continue our tour by foot. You will have the option to do the self-guided tour inside Neruda’s house ($6.000 pesos not included). Then we will walk downhill and visit the open-air Museum and a neighborhood full of murals and mosaics. We’ll keep going downhill and we’ll get to the Plaza La Victoria and the Catedral de Valparaíso (Cathedral of Valparaíso) and then continue towards the port by Avenida Brasil, famous for its palms trees and monuments.

Once at the base of the Cerro Alegre, we will take the Reina Victoria lift to climb to the heart of this hill. We will be able to know its various handicraft shops and cafes, as well as its picturesque murals. We will visit the 7 Esquinas, Paseo Yugoslavo, Gervasoni walk, Atkinson walk, Lutheran Church, Saint Paul Church, Cerro Concepcion, just to mention a few points of interest.

Afterwards we will go down to the port area, where we will visit Plaza Sotomayor and the Port of Valparaíso, where we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (not included)

To end our tour and depending on the weather, we will visit the Paseo 21 de Mayo and the Playa Ancha Lighthouse (this last one by Van). We’ll return to Santiago and be at your hotel by 17:00 hrs aprox.
