Our W Trek self guided 4 day option is the ultimate budget experience. We invite you to have an up close visit to the massive granite towers that give Torres del Paine it’s name. Walk along the breathtaking Cuernos del Paine and to be amazed by the stunning shapes of the Frances Valley. Also, get your breath taken away in front of the magnificent Grey Glacier, the southernmost tip of the Chilean Patagonia’s southern ice fields, where the ice blends into the clouds on the horizon.

The 4 day/3 night W Circuit Express option starts early on the first day and involves hiking to the Base Las Torres Lookout the same day of arrival to Park. If you’re on a tight schedule but don’t want to miss anything, this hike is for you.

Weather
The vast unbroken stretch of ocean to the west and south of the South American continent leaves the Patagonian Andes very exposed to winds that circle the Antarctic landmass. Also, the strong marine influence and the affect of the Southern Patagonia Ice field make the weather hard to predict. In spring or early summer fine weather may deteriorate almost without warning, bringing rain and even snow. Even in summer (December to March) you should come prepared to find strong cold winds (up to 130 km/hr) and rainfall. The summer’s average temperature is 11ºC/52ºF (24ºCmax, 2ºC min).
What you need to bringPassengers need to be prepared for summer and winter all at once. Essential equipment includes a one day backpack (10 liters – to carry camera, glasses, rain coat, etc), trekking or hiking boots, extra shoes for evenings or in case others get wet, waterproof jacket, two pairs of woolen socks, fleece jacket or sweater, shorts or comfortable loose pants, sun protection (glasses, hat, lip balm and screen) and optional capilene underwear for the upper and lower body. Lodgings
Mountain Lodge (Refugio) Torres Central & North:
All mountain lodges used by us for our trips are located in strategic places in the park and with fantastic views. There are 6 beds to each room (bunk-bed style) and have shared bathrooms with hot water. The Mountain lodges of Torres Central and North are two comfortable refugios located at the base of the hike to the Towers lookout and part of the “W” and “Circuit” walks. They are within walking distance to the Hotel Spa at Las Torres for a variety of services including massage and saunas.
Mountain Lodge (Refugio) Los Cuernos:
All mountain lodges used by us for our trips are located in strategic places in the park and with fantastic views. There are 6 beds to each room (bunk-bed style) and have shared bathrooms with hot water. Los Cuernos is found on the shore of lake Nordenskjöld nestled in a Coihue Forest lays Refugio Cuernos with 32 beds. This cozy lodge is located on the “W” circuit walking between the French Valley and the Torres del Paine lookout and base camp area. Cabins optional: 8 cozy cabins for two persons each with shared bathrooms and showers exclusively foe people staying at the cabins. These cabins include the right to use the hot tub with a spectacular view to the Cuernos del Paine. The cabins are located next to the Refugio Los Cuernos and the all meals are taken in the Refugio.
Camping and Domos Francés
Located 1 hour trekking from Los Cuernos sector to the West (between Cuernos and Italiano camping sites), you can find this new wonderful place to stay and its facilities; sites , bathrooms and showers with hot water during the 24 hours.
